The pain passed to us does not disappear simply because we become fathers. When it remains unhealed, it can influence how we respond, connect, discipline, and lead. And our children may begin carrying wounds they never chose.
In this episode, I examine generational trauma through the biblical stories of Mephibosheth, Joseph, and the lost coin in Luke 15. Each story reveals something important about pain caused by another person’s choices and the effect it can have on identity, relationships, and the next generation.
Breaking generational cycles does not require pretending the past never happened. It begins with facing what happened, recognizing how it still affects us, and refusing to let it determine what our children inherit.
The pain may have been passed to you. It does not have to pass through you.
